Specialty Programs-Resources

The Arrowsmith Program®

The Arrowsmith Program is a suite of cognitive programs designed to address a series of cognitive functions underlying a range of specific learning difficulties. The programs target several areas of cognitive functioning involved in learning.

Each cognitive program has a series of intensive and graduated tasks designed to address a specific area of cognitive functioning. The goal of the Arrowsmith Program is to identify and strengthen a series of weak cognitive areas that affect learning, and each student works on cognitive programs that are individually designed for their areas of learning difficulty.

All students enrolled at ATG are taking cognitive exercises. Each student gets an initial learning profile and is assigned Arrowsmith courses accordingly.

Wilson Reading System®

WRS is a highly-structured remedial program that directly teaches the structure of the English language to students and adults who have been unable to learn with other teaching strategies, or who may require multisensory language instruction.

Touch Math

This program offers a multisensory approach to learning math, bridging the gap between abstract and concrete concepts. While it is designed for young learners, evidence suggests that students with TBI can benefit greatly from its unique approach.

Integrated Listening Systems (iLs)

iLs uses music, multisensory input, and movement to stimulate and ultimately rewire the brain, improving different types of cognitive and body functions.

Tutoring and Arrowsmith Program (Cognitive Therapy)

Tutoring focuses on what your child is learning. Arrowsmith changes how they learn.

At Arrowsmith, we are often asked: What is the difference between what tutoring can provide my child and how my child can benefit from the Arrowsmith Program’s neuroplastic approach? Here is our answer and it is important to note both are of benefit and can work collaboratively to support students.

Arrowsmith, strengthen and enhance critical cognitive functions that are the building blocks of learning. Stronger cognitive ability means a transformed learning experience and a greater capacity to benefit from all learning, including tutoring. Change the cognitive capacity of the learner and learning goes forward more efficiently and with more joy.

Given tutoring accommodations and modifications are not available in the workplace or in adult life, the benefit of a changed brain is it transforms one’s future reality.

Adult Program

The Arrowsmith Program offers adults with learning differences the opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives rather than settle for a lifetime of compensations and accommodations. Students can attend the Arrowsmith Program at ATG Learning Academy or on-line to become effective, confident and self-directed learners for life and are empowered to achieve their goals of academic and career success.
